Choosing the Faux Painting Finish
for your walls
There are many different faux finishes that can be achieved with various faux painting tools and methods besides the well known sponging or ragging.  However, before you decide what faux finish you want to faux paint your walls with, there are a few important things you want to think about first.  The technique or method that you plan to use will be critical in the amount of difficulty that you might encounter achieving a particular faux finish.  Certain things must be thought out clearly before you start faux painting in order to avoid major complications or problems that might delay or completely derail a work in progress.  Things like: How high are your ceilings?  Will the faux finish be too busy looking when applied to large walls?  If the method requires using multiple trays of color, can I fit a scaffold in the working area to avoid dangerously carrying the trays up a ladder? If the faux painting method requires 2 persons, can they both fit in the working area?  These questions should be asked before starting a job and not when you are already in the midst of it.
